Bluebird Wines

Bluebird Pinot Noir, Monterey County California

Why we make wine? We celebrate those unforgettable days spent outdoors with friends and family. Whether you’re relaxing after a long climb or cranking out steaks on the grill all Saturday—we make Bluebird for those moments. Our goal is simple: produce unique and high-quality wines that people can drink every day.

Appellation: Monterey County, California

Tasting Notes: The wine is light garnet to crimson in color and yields aromas of fresh red fruit with savory notes of bacon and a subtle hint of pipe tobacco. A light and lively structure offers flavors of brambly fruit as well as ripe strawberry and red licorice. The wine has a crisp, clean finish that complements its lighter structure.

Gary’s Vineyard: The Santa Lucia Highlands sit high above the Salinas Valley in Monterey, California. The north-south orientation of the vineyards and protection from ocean by the Santa Lucia mountains makes this the perfect place for Pinot Noir. The vineyards produce beautiful round wines with great acidity and fruit. Granite soils combined with morning fog and long afternoon sun exposure allow the Pinot Noir vines to thrive and produce well balanced wines.

Barrel Aging: 16 months in 40% French and 60% neutral
